Brooklynettes new designer uniforms aim for street chic vibe [photos]

The Nets new home Barclays center opened over the weekend. The running theme that permeates the rebranded franchise is urban grit. So of course that extends to its dance team, the Brooklynettes. The uniforms are designed by renown costume designer David Dalrymple whose designed costumes for Beyonce (see the connection?), Mary J. Blige and Britney Spears.

“The uniforms are feminine and strong, this isn’t palm trees and sunshine. It’s New York City, and it’s Brooklyn. It’s a different sensibility. We go hard,” the designer said.

The Brooklynettes will have seven different ensembles for game day including,  a jumpsuit, a neoprene scuba blazer with sequin leggings, a little cropped warm-up jacket, and painted sequin leggings. Check out a few of the looks.
