Miami Marlins send shortstop Hanley Ramirez and reliever Randy Choate to Dodgers

The Dodgers are making moves to wake up a sluggish offense and continue it’s post-season push with a new ownership group in place. The team made a huge trade with the Miami Marlins late Tuesday night that will bring shortstop Hanley Ramirez and reliever Randy Choate from the Marlins in exchange for Nathan Eovaldi and a minor league player.

Ramirez will fill the void at shortstop left from Dee Gordon whose recovering from a torn thumb ligament. The idea is that once Gordan returns,  Ramierz will shift to third base.

Ramirez signed a six-year, $70 million deal in May of 2008, and is due about $38 million through the 2014 season.
