Texas Rangers release Manny Ramirez

Manny Ramierz

Veteran slugger Manny Ramirez’s time with the Texas Rangers – actually their minor league team but we all know what the real goal was – has come to an end. The Rangers announced today (Wednesday) that they’ve released Ramirez.

“Based on our evaluation, there was not a spot for Manny on the club at this time,” Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said. “We released him so he could pursue other opportunities if he so chooses.”

Ramirez spent 19 seasons in the MLB and has over 500 home runs. While his numbers were good in the Taiwanese major leagues, he just couldn’t deliver for the Triple-A Round Rock.
