Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton suffered a relapse this offseason with alcohol and cocaine use. Hamilton alerted Major League Officials in New York, before they discovered it during his mandated weekly drug tests.
This marks the second time Hamilton has violated the MLB’s drug policy. While in the minor leagues, he was suspended from 2004- 2006 behind issues with cocaine and alcohol. Hamilton is likely facing a 25-game suspension.
Earlier this month Hamilton underwent surgery on his shoulder and was expected to be out until at least May.
