NFL running back Chris Johnson was released by the New York Jets just last week. Early Sunday morning, Johnson was injured in a drive-by shooting. Johnson and two other men were in a jeep at a red light when a car pulled beside them and opened fire.
29-year-old Chris was hit in the shoulder. The driver, 28 year old Dreekins Oriko Johnson died at the scene. While another passenger Reggie Johnson,29 years old, was shot in the shoulder, leg and hand. Chris and Reggie are reportedly in stable condition.
Johnson was arrested in January for carrying an open firearm in his vehicle.
