The San Francisco 49ers are having an incredible season. At 10-2, the team not only locked up the NFC West title, it also means this will be the first time since 2002 that the team will be relevant in January. Tight end Vernon Davis also had additional reason to celebrate Sunday night. Davis along with music industry exec, Antone Barnes officially launched their new business, Modern Class Design (MCD) an interior design and urban renewal company.
The goal of MCD is to provide interior design services at an affordable price and expand into urban renewal projects in inner-city communities across the nation.
MCD is currently in talks with officials from the city of San Francisco and Washington, D.C public schools to develop a few urban renewal projects in those areas.
Some of their clients include, Reshad Jones of the Miami Dolphins, Anthony Davis and Aldon Smith of the San Francisco 49ers, Jade Financial Management, an East Coast sports financial company and Vernon’s brother Vontae Davis of the Miami Dolphins.
Davis and Barnes held their launch event in the Bay Sunday night (you can check out our friends over at The Lunch Box for all the details from that event on next week’s show!) proceeds from it will benefit Davis’ non-profit organization The Vernon and Vontae Davis Family Foundation. Some of the programs supported by the charity include The Vernon Davis Visual Arts Scholarship Fund, programs for children of drug addicted parents and the Sound Mind Sound Body Football Academy, which provides inner-city athletes with college scholarships.
