Gloria James, Miami Heat star LeBron James’s mother, was arrested at the Fontainebleau hotel on a misdemeanor assault charge after a scuffle with the hotel’s valet
Per TMZ:
Gloria was partying at LIV nightclub with some of her girlfriends earlier in the evening … but when she tried to leave the hotel, she got into an altercation with one of the valet parking attendants.
We’re told Gloria allegedly assaulted the valet. Cops received a call about the incident at 4:47 AM. Gloria was eventually arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor assault. The valet was not arrested.
Allegedly, it took the valet 30 minutes to retrieve the car. Ms. James and Ms. James became enraged once the car was finally delivered, cursing the valet and slapping him across the right side of his face (unprovoked per the police report) so hard that she fell to the ground.
The Miami Beach PD released a statement … explaining, “Mr. Sorel Rockfeller, a hotel valet worker, claimed he was assaulted by Ms. James, who was angered because her car was taking too long to be delivered. Several witnesses supported Mr. Rockfeller’s account of what occurred.”
The statement continues. “Both Ms. James and the driver of the vehicle were initially uncooperative with the investigating officer. Ms. James was apparently intoxicated as she had bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol on her breath.”
This isn’t the first time Ms. James was arrested. In 2006 she was arrested for a DUI in Cleveland. During that arrest, she struggled with police as they attempted to put handcuffs on her and kicked out a window of the police car.
