Since we’re going to be subjected to the Miami Heat trio updates in every capacity. I’ve decided to create a series related to them.
The biggest buzz right now is in reference to Michael Jordan’s comments about the trio:
“There’s no way, with hindsight, I would’ve ever called up Larry, called up Magic and said, ‘Hey, look, let’s get together and play on one team, But that’s … things are different. I can’t say that’s a bad thing. It’s an opportunity these kids have today. In all honesty, I was trying to beat those guys.” – Michael Jordan
I don’t really understand the hype behind his statement. He clearly states it’s a different time now, I don’t think he was being disrespectful, I think he was merely giving his opinion on the situation as several others have. Jordan is the man the entire sports world has turned into a demi-God. If there’s ONE area he should feel free to speak on (in addition to the fact that he OWNS an NBA franchise) it should be basketball related topics. Is the problem because he used himself as an example? I find that odd since he is the measuring stick for every player success in the league today.
Perhaps it’ll be the motivation The Three need. I’ve always said DWade seems to play better when he has something to prove. I”m sure we’ll be discussing these comments for weeks.
Meanwhile, Dwyane Wade had his charity event with Alonzo Mourning this weekend in Miami, The Summer Groove. It was the official debut of he & girlfriend Gabrielle Union (not that we haven’t known about those 2 forever but the divorce is final)
DWade had his own issues with remarks taken out of context when a reporter from NBA Fanhouse misquoted him:
In an interview with NBA FanHouse, Wade said that the Heat will be a major target during the next NBA season:
“We enjoy the bullseye. Plus, there’s going to be times when we lose 2-3 games in a row, and it seems like the world has crashed down. You all are going to make it seem like the World Trade is coming down again, but it’s not going to be nothing but a couple basketball games.”
According to a post at the Sporting Blog, Wade’s comments were initially published differently. “If we lose a couple in a row this season, it will be like the World Trade (Center) is coming down again,” Wade was originally reported to have said.
Hmmm the looks like the media is going to REALLY be the downfall of this conglomerate!
While DWade was holding things down in Miami, Lebron took time out to vacation in the Bahamas with his girlfriend Savannah. Mmmm the Atlantis resort is delicious!!
He also allegedly made a home purchase in the Coral Gables section of Miami. The $49 million dollar home at one time was owned by Pat Riley (no it wasn’t part of the deal there’s an owner in between Pat & Bron) here are the specs on the house:
* eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms
* 880 feet of waterfront
* a master suite with a full gym
* a private guest suite with its own tennis court and courtyard on an acre of land.
* a 150-foot dock
I kinda love it. If he doesn’t want it, I can pick up a tiny percentage of a percentage of the Mortgage! UPDATE Alan Potamkin the owner of the home has confirmed that there s no agreement between he & Lebron James… NEXT HOME
Chris Bosh was in L.A. over the weekend hanging out with his girlfriend Adrienne Williams. In addition to attending the Inception premiere and the Espys, the couple also celebrated st mr Chows and attended Matt Leinart’s Charity Bowling Event at Lucky Strike in Hollywood
And that’s what’s up ::flicks wrists::
