90’s rapper MC Eiht wants to stop Ryan Lochte from tradmarking “Jeah”

Ryan Lochte has certainly embraced some aspects of hip-hop, his iced out grill was certainly one indicator and his catch phrase, “jeah” being another key point. Unfortunately, he may not have been a student of the history behind it. Lochte is attempting to trademark “jeah”  **blank stare** but a west coast rap vet wants him to rethink that.

MC Eiht of the rap group “Compton’s Most Wanted” and one of the starts of 90’s urban classic, “Menace to society” wants the Gold medalist to recognize that he’s been saying “jeah” since the 90’s.

Eiht tells TMZ he coined the phrase back in 1988 and is insulted to hear Lochte is trying to claim it as his own now. Eiht tells us, “Why try and trademark something his ass didn’t even create? I am mad that he isn’t giving me proper recognition for taking my saying. He is just disrespectful.”

Lochte’s manager said the swimmer has been saying it for years and has never heard of the rapper… All of this so you can put “jeah” on a t-shirts and stuff. Le sigh.
