NBA suspends Metta World Peace for 7 games for elbowing James Harden

It’s official. Metta World Peace has been suspended for 7 games following the flagrant 2 foul he received in Sunday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder which left James Harden with a concussion.

Harden still hasn’t returned to active play but tweeted on Tuesday that he was fine and appreciated fans concern

I’m solid. Feeling good. Appreciate y’all for checking on me!!

For the Lakers, that means World Peace will be missing the final game of the season and quite possibly the entire first round and a portion of the second. Along with a missing Metta, the Lakers also have an ailing Matt Barnes and Devin Ebanks. They’re back up options at small forward.

Metta issued an apology via his website, RonArtest.com

If the playoffs began today, that first round match up would be against the Denver Nuggets. Yikes!
