FROM is the Epix sci-fi/horror series that features an ensemble cast led by Harrold Perrineau. The story dives into the mystery of a town that won’t let you out once you enter. The cabler has announced the series was renewed for a second season.
Perrineau spoke with Jill Munroe during the “AAFCA Roundtable” discussion around season one. He discusses his character “Boyd” and gives his opinion on who some of the actual monsters are in the show. Warning, this interview contains spoilers about the first season of the series:
“One of the things stressed to me,” Perrineau said, “was that ‘we have a succinct story to tell, the monsters are just the first part of it. It gets so much worst when you get out into the world.’ I think it is symbolic that those outside monsters are there. They are a thing, But how you will live your life while those things are there makes you address the monsters on the inside.”
Perrineau continued, “how do you address that your marriage is falling apart? How do you find a way to grab onto what’s important with all of this scary stuff outside? And can you actually do this? ”
In season two, hidden truths about the nature and terrifying origins of the town begin to emerge, even as life for its residents is plunged into chaos by the arrival of mysterious newcomers. Production will commence this summer in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with an expected air date in 2023.
The cast also features Catalina Sandino Moreno (The Affair), Eion Bailey (Once Upon a Time), Hannah Cheramy (Van Helsing), Simon Webster (Strays), Ricky He (The Good Doctor), Chloe Van Landschoot (Charity), Corteon Moore (Utopia Falls), Pegah Ghafoori (The Perfect Wedding), David Alpay (Castle Rock), Elizabeth Saunders (Clarice) and Avery Konrad (Honor Society).
