Earlier this year, Michael Sam became the first openly gay man drafted into the NFL. Sam was eventually cut by both the Rams and Cowboys. Initially a reality show was scheduled for Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network, that would chronicle Sam’s road to the L.
Plans for that were scrapped, but now Sam has a sit down interview with Oprah that’s airing on Saturday, December 27th. During the interview, Sam shared with Oprah that other gay NFL players reached out to him.
Sam also discusses what went wrong in Dallas, and elaborates on his prior statement that being gay cut his NFL career short this season.
