Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is reportedly considering a plea deal for the child abuse charges he’s currently facing for disciplining his four-year-old son. Peterson was charged with a felony count of reckless or negligent injury to a child.
ESPN is saying a plea agreement could be reached by Tuesday which would allow Peterson to avoid jail time. But there’s no guarantee that he’ll make a return to the field.
The NFL has created a new personal conduct policy, which includes tougher penalties for convictions, in response to the numerous domestic violence cases- most notably Ray Rice.
In addition to a potential plea deal, the court will also address the bond revocation prosecutors have called for, stemming from Peterson’s admission that he smoked “a little weed.”
