Vanessa Bryant says she wouldn’t want to be married to someone not winning championships

Vanessa Bryant has never been one to make statements to the media. But Kobe wasn’t known to be one of the guys either, and that’s changed, so perhaps we’re seeing another side of Vanessa too.

In an excerpt from an upcoming interview with New York Magazine, Vanessa says if you’re a married professional athlete and not bringing home a championship, you couldn’t be her husband.

“I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can’t win championships,” she said. “If you’re sacrificing time away from my family and myself for the benefit of winning championships, then winning a championship should happen every single year.”

Interesting comment. Along with the sacrifice of time away, let’s not forget that these athletes are compensated WELL. But most lucrative careers, CEOs, Lawyers, entertainers, etc., require time away from the family. Can’t wait to see the entire article and what other topics Vanessa covers.
