Tuesday in New York, Nike and the NFL debuted new uniforms for all 32 of the teams. From an aesthetic stand point, the Nike Elite 51 uniforms aren’t much different in the design save, the Seattle Seahawks. The major difference is in the performance.
Nike is a brand that spends an inordinate amount of time talking to athletes. Understanding their needs, what can help them perform better on the field. The new jerseys are 20%- 30% lighter than the previous jerseys produced by Reebok according to Nike CEO Mark Parker. There’s zoned ventilation areas to keep the players cooler, a tighter fit minus the constriction because of the inclusion of a four-way stretch material and a lightweight padding added to “hit zone” areas.
The event featured players from all 32 teams. Several of the players in attendance worked with Nike last summer on the development of the uniforms.
One of the hottest items shown Tuesday, the new gloves. These are fire!
Of course Nike has a ton of off field gear for football fanatics to look forward to. Sweet!
