“Hustle” is the new Netflix sports’ drama starring Adam Sandler, Queen Latifah, and Spanish professional basketball star Juancho Hernangomez. It also features appearances from Minnesota Timerbwolves star Anthony Edwards, half of the Philadelphia 76ers team, and more surprise cameos.
We were live on the blue carpet for the “Hustle’s” premiere in Westwood, ca., which included LeBron James and his wife, Savannah, Sandler, Queen Latifah, “Inside the NBA” host Kenny Smith, Edwards, actress Karruche Tran, Grammy-award winning singer Usher, “Atlanta” star LeKeith Stanfield, Jaleel White, and more.
James’ Springhill production company produced the film along with Sandler’s Happy Madison productions.
Sandler stars as Stanley Sugerman, an unlucky basketball scout for the Philadelphia 76ers. His wife, portrayed by Queen Latifah- has been on board with the dream since college but has grown tired of the grind that has caused him to miss important life events like their daughter’s birthday. While scouting abroad, Stanley discovers Bo Cruz (Juancho Hernangómez), a once-in-a-lifetime player with a rocky past. Sandler’s scout takes it upon himself to bring the phenom to America without his team’s approval. Against the odds, Stanley and Bo have one final shot to prove they have what it takes to make it in the NBA.
