In my book PostGame Pass: access into the life, there is a chapter titled “Set ups and Shakedowns” which details the various ways that athletes are set up. Knicks forward Derrick Williams could have used the advice from that chapter to avoid being robbed of $750,000 of jewelry over the weekend.
Williams is accusing two women he met at the club and he took home of leaving his house with his jewels. The incident occurred at Williams’ TriBeca apartment in the wee hours of Friday night/Saturday morning. Williams met the girls at a club in the Meatpacking District and took them home for a three-way connect.
The ladies gave the Knicks forward fake names and snatched some of the same jewelry that he frequently posts to his Instagram account. A Louis Vuitton jewelry case which contained the items including: a gold chain with jesus piece medallion, and a $6,800 Panerai Radiomir black seal watch was snatched from a closet.
Law enforcement are investigating if this theft is connected to a string of robberies committed by young women who target wealthy men at clubs and hotel bars.
Like a lot of athletes, Williams likes to show off some of his jeweled blessings on Instagram. Head over to the next page to check out photos of the missing items.
