Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha Shut Down Divorce Rumors

Scandal actress Kerry Washington and former NFL star Nnamdi Asomugha were secretly married back in 2013. Rumors regarding the relationship have been swirling since the beginning, but after word leaked that the couple sold their Hollywood Hills mansion, divorce rumors were on high.

The cause of the alleged rift had to do with Nnamdi’s lack of employment. He was cut from the San Francisco 49’ers shortly after the wedding. Per InTouch Weekly:

 “Things have gotten so bad, Kerry and Nnamdi are barely talking.” They went on to say that Nnamdi resents Kerry and that they’re like two strangers living under the same roof. The source says that after a failed attempt at counseling, Kerry has gotten her lawyers to draw up divorce papers. 

The usually private Kerry must have decided enough is enough. She and Nnamdi did the full blown couple thing at the 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors banquet in Washington, D.C.

Sources tell TMZ that the divorce rumors are untrue and that Kerry and Nnamdi “live like a normal couple, and when you’re around them or on the phone with them they’re clearly into each other.” They went on to say that if they do divorce, it would be “the most shocking split in a long time.”

So there you have it. Private does not necessarily equal problems. But you can be sure if anything comes up later, the sale of the house and these rumors will be a reference point.
