Inside Draya Michele’s “Power Luncheon” [Photos]

On June 1st I had the opportunity to attend a  Power Luncheon for women entrepreneurs at Xen Lounge in Studio City. The event was the brainchild of “Basketball Wives LA” star Draya Michele.

The idea behind the event is to connect women with their own businesses for networking purposes. The attendees spanned various sectors, including finance with a venture capitalist and loan officer, health services professionals who run a low cost health clinic in Compton, make-up artists, fitness trainers, bakers, varied designers and more.

Draya shared the story of how she developed her Mint Swim line. She used some of the money she earned from her initial stint on “Basketball Wives LA” to launch it, and along the way has learned about the importance of good credit, reaching out to banks that are looking to give small business loans to women entrepreneurs, and connecting with people in your circle to exchange services.

Check out videos and photos from the event.

Next up for Draya, expanding her “Fine Ass Girls” line into fitness wear.
