Dwight Howard and Sparks Rookie Te’a Cooper Got Married

Congratulations are in order to Lakers NBA champion Dwight Howard and LA Sparks rookie Te’a Cooper. The two have been dating for a minute, and Dwight recently revealed that they couple has gotten married on Etan Thomas’ podcast, “The Rematch.”

In the interview, he stated he would like to rejoin the Lakers, IF they cash him out…

“My wife plays for the Sparks, so it would be great if we could still be in the same city and play.”

If you saw the free agency news, Dwight announced he’s signing with the Philadelphia 76’ers. He initially first tweeted he was staying with the Lakers. There was allegedly discussion of a one-year deal worth $3 million, but nothing was finalized. The Lakers made other moves, and so did Dwight.

But back to the newlyweds. Te’a was with Dwight in the bubble in Orlando, after leaving her own WNBA bubble following her first season with the Sparks.

The two had a small public incident the night the Lakers won the NBA finals. Dwight was on Instagram live and accidentally showed a DM from Te’a where she was upset with him about some interaction.

Dwight has children from several other relationships. He became a full-time father in March, following the death of his son David’s mother Melissa Rios. Rios passed away due to an epileptic seizure . At one point, Dwight considered not heading to the Orlando bubble in order to fully focus on David away from basketball. David joined him in the bubble.

Recently Dwight’s oldest son Braylon, with former “Basketball Wives Miami” star Royce Reed, had a video leaked to social media where he said he hated him and accused Dwight of not being there for him as a father.  Reed also shared her thoughts on the IG Live incident.

Dwight’s previous fiance Christine Vest played basketball as well. She also balled for the Sparks… the Houston Sparks, a semi-pro team. In case you thought you were experiencing deja vu with this story.

He indicated in the interview that this is the happiest he’s ever been. Te’a has even started a Youtube channel where she plans to address the questions on what it’s like to be a stepmother.

Good luck in Philly Dwight.
