Drake is the king of double entendre. When his Summer 16 tour hit Inglewood on Tuesday, Champagne Papi did what he’s done all summer, rocked the jersey of an athlete near and dear to the city.
His jersey of choice, former Lakers champion Derek Fisher. The Forum was the original home of the Los Angeles Lakers during those 80’s championship teams, and the birthplace of the Kobe and Shaq threepeat era. Those teams featured superstars like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, James Worthy, Jerry West. With that in mind, many are wondering, why DFish?
Here’s where things get tricky. Last October, Derek Fisher’s relationship with former reality TV star Gloria Govan hit the media after Gloria’s ex-husband and Derek’s former teammate Matt Barnes allegedly roughed Fisher up over their romance.
In the summer of 2015, Matt claimed to have developed a friendship with Rihanna. She denied it with a a hotly worded Instagram post.
Drake and Rihanna might possibly be dating, so it’s possible that the king of subliminals could be throwing shots at Barnes, so close to the anniversary of that incident. Especially when one of his Instagram captions read, “sometimes it can get grizzly.” Matt played for the Memphis Grizzlies last season.
