Carmelo and LaLa Anthony are Reportedly Separated

Carmelo and LaLa Anthony are reportedly separated.

According to TMZ Sports, sources close to the couple say the actress and Knicks superstar are now living separately.  LaLa reportedly moved out of the family home last week and she now has her own place in NYC.

Melo and LaLa have had issues in the past, but the current NBA season has been very stressful on the marriage for several months.  Despite the no-trade clause in his contract, Carmelo has been plagued by trade talks, with mainly Knicks president Phil Jackson working hard to move him to another team.

It’s been said that LaLa is the main reason Carmelo is in New York and has fought so hard to stay here.  After Jackson made it clear the team is going to rebuild and doesn’t want Melo here, the superstar is beginning to lean towards waiving his no-trade clause.

Sources say the split between the couple is still amicable, according to TMZ.  They were together just this past weekend at their 10-year-old son Kiyan’s basketball game.  They have NO plans to uproot Kiyan from his friends and school in NY.  Sounds like LaLa is staying put no matter where Carmelo ends up.

The couple got married in 2010 after dating many years before that.
