BET Awards Recap: Bad Boy, Janet, Rihanna And The NBPA

The 15th anniversary of the BET Awards aired on Sunday night. The night was filled with some of your favorites from the worlds of sports and entertainment. These were my favorite moments from the night.

Gabrielle Union is everything! The Being Mary Jane star his the stage with Orange is the New Black star Laverene Cox.

The gag was that two ladies presented in the same custom Michael Costello dress.

Lala is a doll

Tracee Ellis Ross is one of my fashion icons. She and Anthony Anderson were the perfect choices for hosts.

I was in full auntie-mode when Diddy hit the stage with all the 90’s Bad Boy stars – The Lox, 112, Mase, Faith Evans – for the 20 year anniversary reunion of Bad Boy records. The performance SLAYED with hits like I Need a Girl: Part 2,” “It’s All About the Benjamins,” Biggie’s “Mo money mo problems” and more.

Lil Kim’s “Hardcore” entranced was message to the kids, don’t you EVER forget the original Queen Bee!

Puff fell through the trap door on the stage, of course the internet handled him for it.

Rihanna was the BET awards for the first time in years. Her new video for Bitch Betta Have My Money is dropping on Thursday, so the whole night contained a series of stunts relating to that before Ri dropped a sneak peek.

Tori Kelly killed the Smokey Robinson tribute.

Janet Jackson is the OMEGA. She received the icon award last night and naturally there was a special dance tribute performed by Tinshae, Ciara and Jason Derulo.

This was ciara’s moment.

She and her boo Russell Wilson looked adorable on the red carpet.

And of course more of your favorite athletes were on hand. Especially NBA players as BET gears up to air the first ever “Players Awards” in conjuction with the NBPA on July 21st.

Also get ready for Washington Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson’s reality show, “Home Team” dropping on Tuesday.
