The Harlem Globetrotters are getting an update. The Globetrotters are celebrating their 90th anniversary this fall, and have teamed up with reality TV star and fashion designer Angela Simmons, to launch an anniversary fashion line and commemorative uniforms.
The new styles were debuted on Tuesday night as part of the annual KIA STYLE360 showcase during New York Fashion Week. Attendees included Mo’Ne Davis, former boxer Lennox Lewis, and performances from Mack Wilds and Bridget Kelly.
Simmons teamed with hot designer Duckie Confetti for the updated look.
“As a major influencer in the fashion world, Angela Simmons feels the pulse of the younger generation, as well as our fashionable female demographic,” said Harlem Globetrotters CEO Kurt Schneider. “Our 90th anniversary season is an opportunity to honor our rich history and celebrate the future with our new generation of fans. As a devoted Globetrotters fan herself, Angela has done an amazing job pulling inspiration from our past to influence a new look that will shine at Fashion Week.”
