Money and pride can be strong motivators for improvement. Looks like T.O. to the Bengals was a success in at least one area. Terrell is on pace to earn an additional $2 Million dollars by reaching several milestones in his contract.
T.O. will get $333,333 for reaching each of the following benchmarks: 60 catches, 900 yards, and 10 touchdowns. He’ll then get another $333,333 if he tops 100 catches, 1,300 yards and 14 touchdowns.
To date, he has 55 catches for 770 yards and seven touchdowns. He’ll probably reach the 60-catch incentive in the Bengals’ next game and could get to 900 yards and 10 touchdowns in the next game or two. He’s almost certain to reach the first $1 million of his incentives. And we’re just halfway through the season.
The drawback, depending upon whose vantage point you’re taking. Is that Chad Ochocinco’s numbers have declined. I noted early in the season that Carson Palmer seemed to connect better with T.O. A case of being careful who you recruit? Ironically enough during last night’s Monday Night Football telecast, it was revealed that Chad’s biggest cheerleader and support system is Terrell.
Oh well, at least they’re coming together on The T.O.cho show. Although one has to wonder what happens with that once the season is over. The ratings have been really low thus far but hope springs eternal!
But he might want to at least help people up when he runs over them for a Touchdown
They lost last night… AGAIN. But that was pretty right!
