The Portland Trailblazers have fired their head coach, Nate McMillan after 6 seasons. The Blazers are currently 12th in the West and last in the Northwest division. There were high expectations for the team this year especially coming off of last seasons playoff run.
But Brandon Roy’s sudden retirement, Greg Oden injury issues- who was also waived today to make room for incoming Nets players following the trade of Gerald Wallace, and rumors of locker room discord between McMillan and the team. All of the Blazers losses in March have been in double-digits including the blowout suffered at the hands of the Knicks on Wednesday night.
Assistant coach Caleb Kanales will be the interim head coach. There’s no doubt in my mind that McMillan will be picked up by a team next year.
