Nike unveiled a new basketball campaign on Christmas. “Bring Your Game” has kids visit their favorite basketball players to check out their life off the court and pick their number one player.
The spot features LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Paul George, Kevin Durant, Elena Delle Donne, Kobe Bryant and Kyrie Irving. The the kids explore the daily routines and quirks of each player. From meditating with Kobe, fishing with Paul George or kale snacks with LeBron.
There were some other spots that also debuted Christmas day. State Farm finally put Cliff Paul to bed and introduced a creepy new concept that features a bunch of NBA stars, “Meet The Hoopers”
The spot features Clippers Chris Paul as “dad,” his teammate DeAndre Jordan as “mom,” Cavs’ Kevin Love as the teenage son, Trailblazers Damian Lillard as “baby” and NBA OG Kevin Garnett as “Grandpa”
Ok, this one is kind of funny.
And lastly, LeBron’s new Samsung spot features Classic Public Enemy as the soundtrack with “Welcome to the Terrordome” – 90’s babies, I know that won’t register with you, but this is yet another massive moment for hip-hop.
This was also a cross-promotional moment with King James plugging his Bleacher Report platform, “Uninterrupted” a new virtual reality “experience,” Striving for Greatness: An Uninterrupted Original. The 12-minute-plus program documents the NBA star’s process entering his 13th professional season.
