Nelly was always a highly entertaining during his guest stints on ESPN, especially on First Take Now the country Grammar rapper is bringing his sports knowledge to FS1.
Nelly is joining FS1’s Skip And Shannon: Undisputed as a contributor. Nelly has a lot of sports biz experience, the diamond-selling rapper was an All-Star MVP for the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Association in 1992 and is currently a minority owner in the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets. In addition to his reoccurring role alongside Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe, he also scored a development deal.
“I can’t wait to reunite with my man Nelly,” says Bayless. “Seven years ago he was the first rapper we ever had on my former debate show, and he was a revelation. He can debate sports with the same passion, guts and clever creativity that he writes and performs his classic music. He and I share this: we think we’ve never lost a debate. Nelly was made for UNDISPUTED on FS1.”
Undisputed has produced a 358 percent overall time slot increase in its first month versus whatever FS1 was airing a year ago. Skip’s old home, ESPN2, and his “former debate show” First Take, is down 28 percent since the launch of “Undisputed.”
Nelly makes his debut November 1.
