NBA Officially Sets Date To Oust Donald Sterling

Ready for your latest Donald Sterling update? The NBA has set June 3rd to officially strip Sterling of the Clippers ownership. citing conduct that the league said “damaged and continues to damage the NBA and its teams.”

The NBA statement said that Sterling’s words damaged not only the league’s attempts at inclusiveness but damaged relationships with fans, marketing partners and government and community leaders. Additional harm has been suffered by NBA owners, players and Clippers team personnel, the league claimed.

Sterling has until May 27th to respond. His attorney indicated last week that they plan to countersue, and Sterling’s estranged wife Shelly is trying to hold on to her 50% ownership stake.
