Getting caught up in the moment can get you fined. That’s what Toronto Raptors GM Masai Ujiri found out on Monday. Over the weekend, Ujiri was pumped up for the Raptors first post season appearance since 2008 – it also marks their first post-season appearance under his direction – and shouted “Fu*k Brooklyn” to the crowd gathered outside before their match up against the Nets.
Masai apologized about 10 minutes later, but by then the clip was already viral. Initially the league was going to let him go with a warning. But then the NBA changed it’s mind – probably because it thought of all the fines its placed on players and wanted to set a precedent – and fined him $25,000.
Of course New York media responded after Brooklyn took game one.
Game two takes place Tuesday night.
