Just two weeks after reporting that Michael Jordan would sell the Charlotte Bobcats in a few years if the team didn’t become profitable, The new York Daily news is now reporting that Jordan is looking to sell half of the franchise for $150 million.
This doesn’t seem to be a far-fetched scenario. Very few teams are owned outright by one individual. Add that into the fact that the Bobcats were one of the teams complaining about losing money during the lockout and that they’ll again probably post losing returns this season. From a purely business standpoint, that makes sense.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see if Jordan responds.
