In 2010 minority Mavericks owner Ross Perot Jr (he owns about 5% of the team which he sold to Mark Cuban in 2000) filed a lawsuit against majority Mavericks owner Cuban stating:
that current ownership has mismanaged the franchise and failed to maximize profits for the shareholders (i.e., Ross Perot Jr.)
Perot called Cuban “careless and reckless” and asked a judge to seize the team from him and place it in receivership.
“Accordingly, there can be no genuine question that [Perot’s] claims of mismanagement lack merit and …. should be disposed of.”
