With the NBA trade deadline about six weeks away, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has announced that team is ready to make a deal.
“We’re letting everybody know that the ‘Bank of Cuban’ is open. If it’s the right deal, we don’t mind taking back money. But we’re not going to do a trade just to do a trade. It’s got to be worthwhile.”
The Mavericks are having a pretty subpar season despite the play of OJ Mayo and Vince Carter. The Mavs currently have 4 expiring contracts in Chris Kaman, Dahntay Jones, Elton Brand, Dominique Jones. They’re also holding the option on restricted free agents Darren Collison and Roddy Beaubois and OJ Mayo has a player option. The Mavs are currently $10 million under the luxury tax limit. Cuban is known for his savvy business acumen and passion for his Mavs, we know from his past track record he’s not afraid to spend to make things happen. Who do you think would be a good team for the Mavs to make a trade with?
