Are you ready for the NBA’s return to Seattle? After losing the Sonics to Oklahoma City, it appears that Seattle is getting another shot with a new NBA team. Per Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Maloofs have reached a deal to sell the Kings to a Seattle based investor group for $500 million. The Maloofs plan to hold onto a small percentage of the franchise but not in a decision making capacity.
The deadline to submit the application to the NBA for relocation is March 1st.
The fans of Seattle deserve a team but the cowbell loving Kings fans of Sacramento will always hold a special place in my heart from the Laker Championship years from 00-02. Mixed emotions.
Looks like I’m not the only one who feels that way. Check out Kings center DeMarcus Cousin’s Tweet.
