LeBron James‘ goal to takeover Hollywood like he has the NBA is progressing nicely. This week it was announced that James’ SpringHill Entertainment has reached a development deal with HBO to executive produce a comedy set in the world of hypebeast and sneaker collectors.
The untitled series will be written by Shawn Wines and Lemon Anderson. The half-hour single-camera comedy pilot “centers on two best friends and their wild employees at an up-and-coming sneaker shop outside L.A., where they take on the insane and obsessive world of sneaker culture.”

The HBO deal comes two years after James’ and business partner Maverick Carter inked a TV and digitalcontent deal with Warner Bros. The SpringHill Entertainment portfolio also includes Starz’ “Survivor’s Remorse,” which is set to premiere its fourth season on August 20 and “The Wall,” a game show on NBC that debuted earlier this year.
