Lob City might be gaining in popularity in the city of Los Angeles right now but, the Lakers top Forbes list as the most valuable franchise in the NBA. The Lakers signed a new TV deal which helped the franchise grow by 40% in the past year to land at $900 million. The new deal will pay them $200 million every year for the next 20 years. The Lakers operating income is $24 Million. That’s a nice profit.
The Lakers TV ratings are the highest of any NBA franchise. With an average of 273,000 viewers, that number is 73% higher than the second ranked Chicago Bulls.
Rounding out the top 5, last year’s most valuable, the Knicks, come in second at $790 million, next, the Bulls ($600 million), Mavs ($497 million), and Celtics($482).
