The Lakers signed a new TV deal which helped the franchise grow by 40% in the past year to land at $900 million. The new deal will pay them $200 million every year for the next 20 years. The Lakers operating income is $24 Million. That’s a nice profit.
The Lakers TV ratings are the highest of any NBA franchise. With an average of 273,000 viewers, that number is 73% higher than the second ranked Chicago Bulls.
Rounding out the top 5, last year’s most valuable, the Knicks, come in second at $790 million, next, the Bulls ($600 million), Mavs ($497 million), and Celtics($482).
