The Lakers returned to Staples Center following the All-Star break Wednesday with heavy hearts after the passing of owner Dr. Jerry Buss. The team has added a special JB patch to their uniforms that they’ll wear for the remainder of the season. The Hall of Fame owner and visionary was honored with a video tribute, words from Kobe Bryant and a moment of silence prior to the Lakers match up against the Boston Celtics.
The Lakers honored Dr. Buss’ memory by beating one of their arch-rivals, the Boston Celtics, 113-99. A giant sign was erected outside of Staples Center at LA Live for fans to sign and send their condolences.
