Troubled Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has been suspended “indefinitely for unprofessional behavior and conduct detrimental to the team.” The suspension comes following the Kings game against the Clippers on Friday night when Cousins and head coach Keith Smart got into it and Smart made the decision to have Cousins sit out the second half of the loss.
Last night, Cousins didn’t believe the incident would impact him beyond last night.
“It happens all the time between players and coaches,” Cousins said. “I believe we’ll talk about it, get past it and we’ll move forward.”
Clearly the Kings brass felt differently. Cousins was suspended this season for confronting Spurs analyst Sean Elliot and most recently had a tiff wit Mavs guard OJ Mayo who went on to say Cousins’ has “issues.”
There were also several incidents in the past where the center’s maturity level was called into question.
