Looks like one member of TNT’s “Inside the NBA” crew might be giving up his spot. Kenny Smith has had GM aspirations for quite some time. With the new opening in the Sacramento Kings front office – the team that drafted him – Smith has revealed that he’s had conversations with new owner, Vivek Ranadive.
So, who else is in the mix for the position? Former Indiana Pacers team president Larry Bird, Chris Wallace (former Memphis Grizzlies general manager), Travis Schlenk (Golden State Warriors assistant general manager), Mike Dunleavy (longtime coach and executive) and David Morway (former Pacers general manager.) The Kings have also received permission to speak with Pete D’Alessandro, the vice president of basketball operations for the Nuggets.
