Are you into fantasy sports and a resident of New York? Good news is on the way, DraftKings and FanDuel will be back up and running in your state after scoring a victory with appellate judges.
A temporary stay has been granted allowing the two sites to legally operate in NY until a decision has been reached in their appeal.
via TechCrunch:
In December New York State Supreme Court Judge Manuel Mendez upheld a cease-and-desist request from New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman, meaning DraftKings & FanDuel would have to cease operating in New York.
However, a few hours after that decision, DraftKings received an expediated motion to appeal and stay the decision, meaning both companies could temporarily continue to operate while the appeal is being considered.
The expectation is that they will win the appeal and business will continue on as it had before.
