Dwyane Wade to wear 1st Li Ning shoe prototype in Clippers vs. Heat preseason game

“Sometimes you have to leave home to find yourself” – Dwyane Wade

When the Heat and Clippers face off against each other in Beijing , Dwyane Wade will officially unveil the prototype for his first shoe with the Chinese-based Li Ning brand. Wade has said they are still working on the official shoe design which will be called, “Wade.”

DWade is hoping to bring the cool factor of the brand to the U.S. and will have a hand in every aspect from design, marketing strategies and eventually additional endorsers. He Instagram’d a photo from the introduction with the statement, “Sometimes you have to leave home to find yourself. ”

The shoe designs looks a little bulky and generic but, there is something to be said about establishing a presence in China. Stephon Marbury has had a whole career resurgence there including having a bronze statue erected. Wade is probably setting himself up for a post-career revenue stream.

DWade is planning to auction of the shoes worn in these two preseason games.
