Dwyane Wade leaves Jordan for Li-Ning, new shoe dropping in October?

After 9 years with Converse and Jordan, Dwyane Wade is moving on. There were whispers all summer that DWade was planning on jumping ship from the Jordan brand and both sides confirmed the parting of ways this week. Wade is rumored to have signed with Chinese brand Li-Ning. The shoe company also boasts Kevin Garnett, Shane Battier and Evan Turner.

DWade posted this photo on Instagram of the tip of a shoe with the rest blurred out and the date of 10-10 so one can assume that his official signing and shoe for the season will be announced then.

Although Wade was the main guy with Converse and also had his own Jordan shoe, there never was a huge breakout shoe with either brand for Wade. With Jordan, it seems as if no matter what, no current star is ever able to step out of the shadow of the iconic namesake and carry the brand to new product that isn’t reliant on retro re-releases.
