As expected, Donald Sterling has found a lawyer and is threatening the NBA with a lawsuit. Sterling’s antitrust lawyer, Maxwell Blecher sent a letter to the NBA claiming that Sterling hasn’t done anything to warrant his ownership being stripped. Oh and that $2.5 million fine, you can forget that, he’s not paying that either.
The problem is, the NBA is a privately owned entity. Sterling agreed to their bylaws. On top of that, he admitted to wrong doing on his interview with Anderson Cooper… and then went on to berate Magic Johnson for no apparent reason. Sterling needs to sit this one out. It’s over.
But he’ll have almost $1 billion to play with and drag this out in litigation. the depositions could get ugly.
Godspeed NBA
