Looks like the Clippers and Celtics may have hit another snag in their ongoing quest to swap DeAndre Jordan and Kevin Garnett as well as allow Doc Rivers to bounce out of his contract and head west. Per league rules, not only are coaches prohibited to be formally “traded,” teams can’t trade or move forward with free-agent signings with contingencies or side deals attached.
So now we wait it out. DeAndre Jordan stated in a recent interview with Yahoo Sports that he understands the NBA is a business. He loves LA, his teammates, etc. but if he’s traded to Boston it will be business as usual. Feels like deja vu for the city of Los Angeles except this time it’s the Clippers that are hoping a little bit of magic works in their favor.
