Jay Z and his wife Beyoncé have kept the digital sphere buzzing this week. First the announcement that Jay was making his foray into the sports agency business. He’s already signed his first player in Yankees Robinson Cano. Next up Beyoncé unleashes her new Pepsi campaign. Like many artist that have formed recent partnerships, Beyoncé has taken creative control and is filtering the Pepsi brand through a Beyoncé lens. Check out the new spot which takes you back through King B’s musical history, leading you to the message to “embrace your past, but live for now.”
You also get a snippet of her new single, “Grown Woman.” Beyoncé will also be launching a special can that won’t be available for purchase in stores but will be at certain Pepsi sponsored events. In addition to all of that, Beyoncé will play a role in the “Pepsi Creative development Fund” which will encourage consumers to create their own content. Think back to the Super Bowl performance that featured fans. It’s all about Mr. & Mrs. Carter this summer, you ready?
