Zach Randolph Charged With Misdemeanor Weed Possession From August Arrest

Sacramento Kings forward Zach Randolph doesn’t have to worry about having a felony charge hanging over his head as he starts the 2017-2018 NBA season with a new team.

Following an arrest August 9 in Watts, where he was initially charged with suspicion of possessing weed with intent to sell, has been dropped down to misdemeanor possession and resisting arrest.

Randolph was arrested Aug. 9 at the Nickerson Gardens housing project after officers observed a crowd of people drinking, smoking and turning up while allegedly blocking the streets.

A mini riot broke off after three men – including Randolph – ran. The officers grabbed one guy, but Zach and another guy rand into a house. The crowd attempted to block the police and started throwing rocks and bottles.

Five police cars and one sheriff’s vehicle ended up with smashed windows and slashed tires.

Court docs say 36-year-old Randolph possessed “more than 28.5 grams of marijuana or more than four grams of concentrated cannabis or both.” If convicted, Zach faces a year in jail. That’s unlikely to happen though.

Clearly just a stash for a rich man that can afford it.
