Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner, and her fiancée, Tulsa Shock player, Glory Johnson, are still set to get married next weekend (May 8th.) The two were recently arrested in Arizona following a physical altercation at their home.
Griner has already taken a plea deal and according to her attorney, and will complete a 26-week counseling program to be acquitted from assault charges.
The WNBA is investigating the incident, and Griner is fully cooperating.
Griner’s attorney:
“Brittney wishes everyone to know, ‘It is never okay for an argument to turn physical. This will never happen again, and I take my relationship and my responsibility as a role model seriously. I am committed to making positive changes and I plan to use what I have learned to set a good example and help make a difference in the world around me.’”
