I’ve never really understood the point of looting after your team’s lost or victory. Does it somehow ease the pain of losing to trash your own city? You still have to live there after that.
At any rate, that fact was somehow lost on Canucks fans last night after the team lost game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final to the Boston Bruins. Fans (is that even the best word to describe these people?) took to the streets of Vancouver burning cars and garbage cans, smashing windows and of course posing for pictures in the middle of chaos.
Apparently this is normal behavior for Canucks fans. Same thing happened in 1994 after a lost to the NY Rangers. Looks like they may have to wait another 17 years to see if they can handle the strain of being in the final. That would be a dose of karma right?
