UCLA Football Staff Reportedly Doesn’t Want Diddy Prosecuted

Let’s get you updated on the latest news regarding Sean “Diddy” Combs arrest for allegedly assaulting his son‘s football strength and conditioning coach.

Diddy was arrested Monday following an altercation with coach Sal Alosi at UCLA. If Alosi’s name sounds familiar, he was a strength and conditioning coach for the NY Jets back in 2010. He was suspended from the NFL after he tripped a Miami Dolphins player from the sidelines during a game.

Alosi  has been a member of UCLA’s football staff since 2012. Monday’s incident came about after Alosi reportedly berated Diddy’s son Justin Combs, telling him things like , “I don’t care if your dad’s here. This is UCLA. I’m going to treat you just like I treat everyone else.” and Combs should quit and not return until fall. Justin reportedly told his father about the incident, so Diddy wanted to speak with Alosi about the way he spoke to his son.

There are three sides to every story, here’s one reported version:

Alosi refused to see Diddy when he arrived. Diddy isn’t one to take no for an answer, so he went to Alosi’s office anyway. That’s when Alosi reportedly threatened to call police. Diddy says no problem, he’ll call the police for Alosi.

That’s when things reportedly exploded,  Alosi snapped and charged at Diddy and Diddy grabbed the kettlebell in a defensive position, not intending to hit Alosi with it. Diddy was arrested and charged with 3 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, 1 count of making terrorist threats – reportedly that charged stemmed from Diddy telling Alosi he would f**k UCLA up – and 1 count of battery. He was released after posting $50,000 bail hours after the incident.

Representative for Diddy released a statement Tuesday, calling the version of events that have been released, “inaccurate” and stating that they believe the case will be dismissed.

“The various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are wholly inaccurate. What we can say now is that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son. We are confident that once the true facts are revealed, the case will be dismissed.”

Justin posted the following message to his Instagram

The UCLA coaching staff – including head coach Jim Mora- reportedly aren’t interested in filing charges against Diddy per TMZ. They’d like to avoid the circus of a trial. There is video of the incident, so the DA still could file charges without Alosi or the intern that was also involved.
