Singer Kehlani Hospitalized Following Suicide Attempt

Social media was in high gear on Monday after OVO rapper PartyNextDoor posted a photo in bed with his ex-girlfriend, singer Kehlani. The problem with this, as far as most of the world was concerned, the 20-year-old was dating Cleveland Cavs point guard Kyrie Irving.

It was all jokes and memes until it was reported that Kehlani was hospitalized last night after a reported suicide attempt. Kehlani confirmed the news by reactivating her Instagram account and sharing the below message that begun with the words, “today I wanted to leave this earth”

today I wanted to leave this earth. Being completely selfish for once. Never thought I’d get to such a low point. But.. Don’t believe the blogs you read .. No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person… Everyone is hurt and everyone is in a place of misunderstanding.. But as of today, I had no single wish to see tomorrow.. But God saved me for a reason, and for that… I must be grateful.. Cuz I’m not in heaven right now for a reason… On that note.. Bye Instagram.”

She then followed that up saying that her alleged attempt to take her own life wasn’t a cry for help.

That post was deleted as well. Then the Grammy nominated singer posted a photo of PND at her beside, the first comment said “f**k what they talking about”

Then she changed it to “thank you for saving my life.”

The interesting about that, isn’t he the one that kicked off the chain of events by posting a slick photo to IG. I just wonder how the man that started the cycle becomes the savior. If anyone should know and understand her fragile mental state, it should be the ex she went back to.

Per TMZ, she has been placed on a psych hold – which is standard when one attempts to take their own life. Prayers up for Kehlani. 20 is really young, there’s a lot to take in. I hope that she has solid people around her and this incident isn’t downplayed.

Please know if you ever struggle with thoughts of suicide, reach out to someone. National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1-800-273-8255.
